What is Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis?

 

Hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA), is an analytical test which measures the mineral content of the hair. The sampled hair, obtained by cutting the first inch and one-half of growth closest to the scalp at the nape of the neck, is prepared in a licensed clinical laboratory through a series of chemical and high temperature digestive procedures. Testing is then performed using highly sophisticated detection equipment and methods to achieve the most accurate and precise results.

Minerals measured include calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and phosphorus, copper, manganese, chromium, selenium, iron, molybdenum, lithium, cobalt, zinc and others. Toxic metals tested include lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, nickel, aluminum and others.

  • Once you have decided to work with me, purchase the package of your choice below.

  • I will mail you a hair test kit and e-mail you additional paperwork. 

  • Collect the hair sample and mail it to Trace Elements in the envelope provided. Results typically take between 2-3 weeks and will be sent to me. 

Step 3

  • Complete and e-mail the symptom survey and liability form to me.

  • If you have insurance or can get labs done in the Philippines, please get the recommended blood tests on the left. Consult with your doctor to request these tests. This series of blood tests provide a good picture of your body's iron status and how well the iron recycling system is working. Email the results to me.

Step 4

  • When I receive the symptom survey, liability form and blood tests (if done) from you and the HTMA results from Trace Elements, I will contact you to set up a consultation.
